What it does

An elastic, fibrous hair gum for messing up, separating and reworking your hair into a textured, lived-in look. Medium hold that stays flexible, with a natural shine rather than a wet look. The versatile one for most hair types and most days (you may also see it spelled fiber gum).

How to use

  1. Use on dry hair.
  2. Rub a small amount between your palms — you’ll feel the fibres stretch.
  3. Work it through, then pull and twist sections apart for separation.

From the Journal: matte clay vs fibre gum vs defining cream

Questions

What is fibre gum?

A styling paste with a stretchy, fibrous texture. It grips and separates the hair for a piecey, textured style, with more flexibility than a clay.

Is fibre gum matte or shiny?

Natural shine — not wet-look. For no shine at all, try Super Dry Clay.

Is it good for curly or wavy hair?

Yes. A small amount helps define and separate waves without crunch.

Fibre gum or defining cream?

Fibre gum is about texture and movement; Defining Cream gives stronger hold and sharper definition.
